OWEN McDONALD
Born 1780. Died Aug 20, 1842. (Loretto Cen. p.185) Married in Hancock, Md. to Eliza Parsons. Came to Ebensburg 1815 to erect a hotel, the town being ont eh main thoroughfare. The Cambria House was well made and well known as a stage coach stop. It was later known as the Foster House. "He was at one time sheriff".

Owen Mcdonald brought the first piano into Cambria county. On display
He was on the first Ebensburg Borough council in 1825, and the members met at his home on March 21, 1825.
He was the first fireman appointed by the Council.

W.R. Dec 7, 1906 (obit of Eliza tells of the early history) Owen Cornelius McDoanld came to the U.S. at the time of the Irish Rebellion 1798-1803. Littian's mother and Peg Myers father McDonald were brother and sister.
There was a connection with the Shoemakers - early settlers in this area.
