Will: I Charles McDonald of the township of East Nottingham in the county of Chester...my willis that my lot of land ajoining Robert Wilson and others and my house and lot where Stephen Yahurr(?) both in the township of East Nottingham now lives be sold...my will is further that as much of my personl property as can be spared from the [?] use of the famly be sold adn further it is my will adn desire that my Widow and children should live together and enjoy the use of my other real and personal property for five years i common and maintain the younger children adn keep up the real and personal property as good as it now is, and at the end of five years from my decease, My real and person property to be appraised by five disenterested men to be chosen by my widow adn children that is come of age. After such appraisment I order my son Benjamin F. McDonald to have the privalege of taking the real estate at the appraisment by paying the widow and other heirs as herinafter mentin after allowing my son Benjamin f. McDonald two hundred dollars. The remainder of my real and personal property is to be distributed as follows....My beloved wife Elizabeth to have one third....the other two thirds to be equally divided among all my children living share and share a like...and lastly I nominate...my beloved wife Elizabeth McDonald to be the executrix of this...this 9th day of December 1843.

Orphan Court petition, of Elizabeth McDonald, Feb. 1 , 1849:

The petition of Elizabeth McDonald executrix of charles M'Donald late of East Nottingham township deceased respectfully represents: That said Charles M'Donald died December 1843...that he died seized, among other things, of a message[?] adn tract of land in said township, bounded by lands of John M'Henry, John Turner, Joseph Crowl and others, containng one hundred acres more or less, which is the only real estate of said testator now remaining...are insufficient for payment of the debts...she therefore prays the court ot make an order for the mortgage of the said real estate..
