Contributing to this site...

You can contribute to this site in two ways:

1) Send me your family group for inclusion in the county Family Group pages. It will allow other researchers studying the same family line to contact you.

2) Send me any documents (wills, estates, deeds, cemetery, etc) you've collected for posting within the county sites! I will give you full credit for such contributions. (see below for details)

CONTRIBUTIONS OF GENEALOGICAL MATERIAL:
I would greatly appreciate any contributions of genealogical records. At its best, the material would:

1) Be in digital format, sent as an e-mail attachment or copied and pasted into the e-mail message. If sent as an attachment, TEXT format is best.

2) Avoid complicated text formats: that is, without indents, tabs, double spacing, etc. Please have hard returns only between paragraphs and not between lines of text!

3) Site all sources. Something simple which states what and where and who is fine, such as:
Source: Will Book B, pg 12, Mercer County Will Book, Mercer County Courthouse, Mercer, PA
Transcribed by: Joe Smith, Mercer PA [address, e-mail, etc is optional]
In the case of contributions to Family Groups/Family Trees, sources are not needed.

4) Do not send material which violates Copyright restrictions.
I'm a freelance illustrator, and my ability to make a living depends on other people repecting the copywrite laws pertaining to my work. The same goes here. If I have any question as to the ownership of the material, I will not post it until I can be assured that there will be no copyright violations. It is for this reason that you will find no material from commercial CDs here, despite the great genealogical value of some of the material found therein. If you send material which referrences a specific entry from a specific CD, that is acceptable.

CORRECTIONS:
I've tried to transcribe the material exactly as presented. If you know that your great-uncle Ed used McDannel instead of McDaniel, despite the records showing McDaniel, let me know. I'll put the correction in brackets next to the original text. But the original text must stand as is.

COMPLAINTS AND SUGGESTIONS:
Let me know what you think! Can I make the site more accessible? Have I left out any sources or record types?
