letters testamentory issued to Theophilus McDonald same day.
letters of administration. granted 8 Jun 1852 to Hugh McDonald.
"...I, Joseph McDonald of the township of Wheatfield, Indiana County...I
will and bequeath to my beloved sons Hugh McDonald & Joseph McDonald
all that tract of and I now reside on with all the appurtances... I further
allow and require them the said Hugh & Joseph that they shall give to
their sister Catharine the same privilege of living in the house I now reside
in, as she now enjoys, during the time she may remain a single woman, I
bequeath to my said daughter Catharine her bed, bedstead & bedding,
and her clothing & spinning wheel, and one cow and two sheep - And I
make ad ordain my sons Hugh & Joseph McDonald Executors of this my last
will and testament...the seventeenth day of August, ...1835.

"I, Joseph McDonald, the within named testator, do hereby make and
publish this codicil to be added to my last will and testament in mauer,
following to wit: I give and bequeath unto my son Hugh McDonald all the
ballance of the tract of land, being the said tract of land that the town
of New Washington is laid out on, the said tract of land adjoining lands
of Samuel Johnston & the old tract that I now reside on, to him the
said Hugh, in fee simple...and I make and ordain and appoint my son Theophelus
McDonald and James Elliott, Esq. Executors of this my last will and testament
...this 11th day of November, 1840.

"...I, James McDonald of Brushvalley Township Indiana County....as
to the residue of my personal property I leave it in the hands of my wife
Catharine and to be at her disposal and next I allow my son James McDonald
my farm containing about 150 acres be the same more or less bounded by lands
of Christian Miller, Samuel McDonald, John Fry and others on the following
conditions
And first that the said James keeps my beloved wife Catharine his mother
her lifetime in whatever she may need for her comfort and maintenance. And
secondly that he pays unto my daughters Jane, Agnes and Euphemia the sum
of $1050 to be paid in seven equal annual payments the first payment to
be made in one year after my wife Catharines decease. To my daughter Jane
the next payments she shall receive equally until the whole is paid. And
thirdly that my said son James boards my said three daughters until they
are paid their full shares. My title or titles for the land I invest in
my said daughters Jane Agnes & Euphemia and allow it to remain in them
until the whole of the above conditions is complied with. In addition to
the above I allow my said daughters the use of the room upstairs with the
with the fire place and part of the entry up stairs until they received
their money. And in case any of my named three daughters should be called
off before they received their full share of the money the ballance yet
remaining to be divided equally over the surviving sisters or sister.
And in case my son James neglects of refuses to take the land on the above
conditions then I allow my three daughters already named to pay to my son
James McDonalds children namely Alexander, Elizabeth Jane, William Parker,
Catharine Anne, and Lucinda, five in all the sum of $150 as follows Viz.
$50 in one year from their mothers decease and $50 annually until the said
sum of one hundred dollars is paid to be divided equally over the above
named children.
And I do hereby make and appoint Michael Rugh of the foresaid county and
Blacklick Township executor of this...this second day of April, 1852.
