14 Sep 1788 at Sharpsburg MD, sol. d. 9 Jun 1840 in Mercer Co PA & his
widow applied there 28 May 1841 aged about 71 & she was still there
in 1848, a son Charles McDonald was mentioned & the only children's
births shown were: Robert b. 13 Aug 17?? torn off, John b. 8 Feb 1791 &
Nelley b. 28 Nov 179?, the son Charles Mcdonald made aff'dt 28 May 1841
in Mercer Co PA.

Though it is unfortunate that there that no 1890 census exists due to a fire, the archives does have on microfilm a special census for that year listing all living, and widows of decesed, Civil War vets receiving a pension. So, here is what I found: 1890 Special Census; M-123; Roll #89:
