"This Indenture, made the 24th Day of August ... 1779 by and Between John Scott of Lack Township in the County --[white band across film] --- Robinson, of the Township of Lack, both of the County aforesaid of the other Part. Witnesseth that the said John Scott and Agness his wife, for and inconsideration of the sum of 705 Pounds ...paid by the said Theophilus McDonald and Joseph Robinson ... do grant ... unto the said Theophelus McDonald Jonathan Robinson ... to a certain Messuage and Tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in Lack Township, in the county & state afs'd, whereon the said John Scott now dwells, being part of a surveyed tract of lands, sold by a certain Joseph Scott, to a certain Samuel Davis, this part said Joseph Scott reserved to himself, and afterwards, sold it to a certain John Morgan, as by his certain Indenture, bearing date the 26th Day of June, in ... 1775 ... who afterwards sold it to the afs'd John Scott, as by his Indenture bearing Date the 13th day of March, 1779 ... and a part of this present described Tract is held by an Improvement Right, bounded on the East by a Surveyed Line betwixt that and Samuel Davis's Tract, on the South West by Mary Kellough's Tract, and North West with Francis Tunis's Tract. Supposed to contain 150 acres ... [etc]"

"This Indenture made this 24th day of May 1784 By and between William Campbell of the township of Lack and County of Cumberland ... yeoman ... and Collin McDonnell of the township County and State afforesaid ... Wintesseth that the said William Campbell for ... 235 pounds ... Hath Bargained ... all that piece parcell or tract of Land as herein described situate lying and being in Lack Township and County afforesaid Bounded By land of Nicholes Frederick on the Millawn[?] Beginning at a post ... to Tuskarora Creek thence down the Different Courses of said creek ... to a post in Collen McDonells line ... to the place of beginning containing 196 acres and 13 perches ... Bounded by Lands of Collen McDonnell on the South and Nickles Frederick on the South West and Johnathan Kearsly on the North East and Tuskorara Creek on the North West ... [etc]"

"This Indenture Made the 27th day of June ... 1792 Between Samuel Edmiston of Lewis Town in the County of Mifflin ... [?] and Jane his wife ... [illegible] in their own[?] rights and [?], and Samuel Montgomery and James Potter[?], both of the same place [?] by the afors'd Samuel Edmiston Attorney, [?] by Letter of Attorney for this [...?...] of the one part, and James McDonald of Franklin[?] County Mill Maiy--[?] of the other part, Whereas the said Samuel Edminston, together with the said Samuel Montgomery and the said James Potter[?] were seized in their demean ... of and in a certain Tract of Parcel of Lands, actually[?] ca---[?] Wishnsagnella-[?] Old Town boundedn on the East by Westauuillars[?] Creek, on the South by Juniatta Line, on the West by Lands late of Thomas Holts[?], and on the North by lands of Robert Buchanon containing in the whole 314 acres ... And whereas also in lpursuance of an Act of the Legislature the County Town for the said county of Mifflin has been fixed and established on the said Tract of Land and a number of lots in conwequence thereof have been divided and laid off by the trustees in the said Act appointed for that urpose in the said county Have[?] call'd "Lewis-Town"....

Now This Indenture Witnesseth, that the said Samuel Edminston and Jane his wife, and the said Samuel Montgomery, and the said James Potter, by the said Samuel Edmiston their Attorney, for and in consideration of the Rents, Covenants ... Have granted ... unto the said James McDonald ... all that certain Lot of Ground situate in Lewis-Town afforsaid in the said County of Mifflin, containing in breadth 60 Feet, and in lenth 200 feet, situate in Market street adjoining Lot on South No. 57 on the West and Market Street on the North , for and in consideration of the sum of 10 Pounds 5 Shillings ... [long description of terms of paying rent] ... [etc]"

1798, Laurence McDonnell from Henry Philips

"Articles of agreement made and agreed upon on the 28th day of August ... 1798 Between Henry Philips proprietor of certain lands in Mifflin & Huntingdon Counties ... and Laurence McDonnell now or late of Mifflin county ... he lately residing in Philadelphia. Witnesseth said party of the first part now holds a certain tract of land situate in the county of Mifflin ... containing 100 acress ... duly surveyed and [?] into the Surveyor P--[?] Office inpursuance of a warrant Issued for the same remaining[?] in the name of ____ and dated the ___ day of ___ A.D. ___ being part of a survey of 400 acres thereabouts And Whereas the said party of the second part hath agreed to improve and settle on the said tract on or before the said 28th day of August for and in behalf of said party of the first part and thereon made an actual settlement thereon and will clear fence & cultivate at least 25 acres of the same in manner as following to wit in the year 1798, 5 acres; in the year 1800, 5 acres; & in the years 1801 & 1802 10 acres and will also erect a Messuage fitted for the habitation of men; and will reside or cause a familly to reside thereon, for five years next following the said 28th day of August. The improvments aforesaid to be competed in the above mentioned years In Consideration whereof the said party of the second part is is to receive a conveyance of the said Tract to him , his heirs and Assigns on his or their paying 300 dollars on or before the expiration of 7 years from the 28th day of August Anno Domini 1798 in three equal payments ... "This Indenture made the 20th day of February ... 1805 Between Robert Crayton of Mifflin town Mifflin County ... and Barnet McDonald of said place ... Witnesseth that whereas he thesaid Robert Crayton hath made a purchase from a Certain Daniel Murry of the City of Baltimore of all his right, title ... to a certain Messuage and lot of Ground ... lbeing in the twon of Mifflin aforesiad on [the west side of ]Second Street known in the general plan of said town by No. 36 ... containing 140 feet in length or depth and 60 feet in breadth or front ... the aforesaid Robert Crayton for the sum of 200 Pounds ... hath granted all the aforesaid ... lot of ground ... [etc]"

" This Indenture made on the 29th day of august ... 1807 Between Jesse Evans and Lydia his wife of the township of Derry, Mifflin County ... and Daniel Mcdonald of Milford Township County & stae aforesaid ... Whereas Joseph McCoy by Indenture bearing date the 18th day of March AD1805 for the consideration therein mentioned did grant and confirm unto the above menitoned Jesse Evans ... Warrants of survey formerly granted to the said Joseph McCoy said Land Being surveyed for the said Joseph McCoy situate in Milford Township aforesaid Ajoining Lands of Grays heir Charles Morrow Andrew Morrow Samuel Williams and the claim of Sarah Graham Containing 130 acres ... in the said Recited indenture Recorded at Lewistown in Recording book G page 631 ... Witnesseth that the said Jese Evans and Lydia his wife for ... 700 Pounds .. paid by the said Daniel McDoanld ... do grant ... all that messuage and tract of Land as above Recited Containing 130 acres ... 1810, David McDonald & John McDonald from Thomas H. Stewart et al
Book I, Page 83, Millford Twp.

"This Indenture made this 21st day of November in the year ... 1807 Between Thomas H. Stewart, Thomas Stinson and Margaret his wife late Margaret Stewart which said Thomas H. Stewart & Margaret Stinson formerly Stewart are the surviving Administrators of all ... the goods and chattels ... which were of John Stewart late of Millford Township Mifflin countdy dec'd who died intestate of the one part and David McDonald and John McDonald of Millford Township Mifflin county of the other part. Whereas the aforesaid John Stewart ... became lawfully seized ... a certain part or parcel of Land situate in Millford Township adjoining lands of Theophelus McDonald, Andrew Brickley and others containing 86 acres and 117 perches It being a part of three surveys as herein after recorded & being so thereof seized ... died Intestate after whose death to wit, at an Orphans held at Lewistown ... on the 20th day of June ... 1807 the aforesaid ... surviving administrators of John Stewart Deceased presented their petition ... that said John the Intestate left [?] 5 children all in their minority. That the personal estate ... was insufficient for the payment of his debts ... Whereupon the said Court ... ordered ... that the said land ... should be sold on the premises on Saturday the 15th day of August then next. ... And Whereas at an Orphan's Court ... on the 20th day of August last past the said Thomas H. Stewart ... they did ... sold the same to the said David McDonald and John McDonald for the sum of 477 pounds 2 Shillings they being the highest bidders ... Now this Indenture witnessith that the said Thomas H. Stewart ... Do grant ... unto the said David McDonald and John McDonald ... all that certain piece or parcel of land situate in Millford Township Mifflin County adjoining Theophelus McDonald Andrew Brickley the heirs of John Stewart Deceased and others Containing ... Being a part of three adjoining surveys one parcel thereof beginning at a white oak thence by land of Theophilus McDonald South ...to the place of beginning Containing 64 acres and 39 perches it being part of a Survey that James Scott sold and conveyed to William Thompson and Theophelus McDonald which said William Thompson by deed dated the 2nd day of October in the year 1779 sold and conveyed to John Boggs and which was sold as the property of John Boggs by Thomas Buchanon Esquire Sheriff of Cumberland County and by Deed datd the 7th day of April 1792 conveyed to James McCally who by Deed dated the 27th day of June in the year ... 1792 sold and conveyed the same to Benini Williams and which said Benino Williams and Catherine his wife by Deed dated the 6th day of October 1794 sold and coveyed to the aforesaid John Stewart in fee, one other parce of said land ... Containing 2 acres and 50 perches ... The other parcel of which Land ... Containing 20 acres and 28 perches and being a part of the Old plantation of the said John Stewart Dec'd ... [etc]"

"This Indenture made this 6th day of April in the year ... 1821 by and between John McDonald and Mary his wife of Milford Township Mifflin County ... and David McDonald of the township county and state aforesaid ... Witnesseth That the said John McDonald & Mary his wife hath for and in consideration of the sum of $367.15 paid by the said David McDonald with a part of what what was due to the said David McDonald out of the Estate of Theophilus McDonald Dec'd ... hath bargained, sold ... unto the said David McDonald ... all his the said John McDonald & Mary his wife's right ... to a certain Message tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in Milford township in the county and state aforesaid whereon the said David McDonald now[?] liveth adjoining Lands of Theopelus McDonald and Andrew Brickley the heirs of John Stewart dec'd & others containing 86 acres & 117 perches being part of three adjoining surveys ... [ for a description of land and deed transfers, see deed Book I, page 83: David & John McDonald from Thomas H. Stewart et al, 1807, excepting the 2nd parcel of land, here described as:] containing 2 acres and 50 perches it being part of a tract of land sold and conveyed by James Hedlestone to James Mackey and which James Mackey and Sarah his wife by deed dated the 20th day of April 1797 sold and conveyed to the aforesaid John Stewart ... "This Indenture made the 18th day of November 1837 between Revel Elton of Oliver township Mifflin County ... and Mary his wife ... James McDonald & James Cooper of Oliver township county & state aforesaid ... Witnesseth That the said Revel Elton and Mary his wife for ... the sum of $1250 ... hath granted unto the said James McDonald & James Cooper as tenants in common and not as joint tenants ... acertain messuage or three lots of and situate in Wayne [ word scratched out] --burge or otherwise McVey town Oliver township county & state aforesaid. Two of the alemee[?] lots situate on the North side of Water street containing in breadth 107 feet 2 inches along said street to lot No 6 from thence to the canal on the west, thence along to John Street from thence along John street to Water street to the place of Beginning Said lots is known in the general plan of said town as Lots No 7 & 8. The third lot is right oposit to lot No 8 aforesaid ... [etc]
