John McDonald came this day into court ...the following petition, to wit - To the honorable...Hannah McDonald formerly Hannah McKinsey late of Ligonier Township...died intestate leaving no husband but leaving lawful issue William McDonald, John McDonald your petitioner, Hugh McDonald, James McDonald, Mary intermarried with John McGuire, Hannah intermarried with James Taylor and Andrew McDonald - That the said intestate died seized in her demeaner as of fee, of and in a certain plantation or tract of land situated in Ligonier Township containing 365 acres...bounded by lands owned by the Westmoreland Bank of Pennsylvania , lands of the heirs of _____ Mickey deceased, [illegible word] Murray Sinclair & others..." [here follows a request for partition, including appraisal by John Klingensmith, sheriff, and 'twelve honest and lawful men of his bailiwick' with names given, a decision to divide the land in thirds - includes a plot map]

Taylor Attorney...for William McDonald eldest son of the said Hannah McDonald deceased ...requested that [he be allowed to purchase one of the sections for $947.11, to be paid to the other heirs] ...shall be the sole property of the said William McDonald as fully and for such estate as the said Catharine McDonald in her lifetime held the same - Hugh McDonald being offered as securite..."

Alexander Esq. on behalf of Thomas Pollock guardian of Andrew McDonald a minor named as one of the children entitled to a share of said estate rule on Michael Tetrick to appear at the next adjourned Court and show cause why the share of the said Andrew McDonald...shall not be paid over to the said Thomas Pollock - copy rule served (no order taken thereon) [here follows brief legal battle, Andrew eventually getting his share]
