1968 Volkswagen 1300
This was the car that "came with my wife", along with a huge German Shepard who would bite anyone coming near the car! Although the kit was of a '67, it was very simular to the '68 models...the notable exception being the squared-off bumpers. Since no model utilizing these bumpers could be found, the bumpers were scratchbuilt using styrene strips and covered with Bare Metal Foil. The license plate is from a photo of the actual plate with the addition of a photo-etched frame. The dashboard was hand painted to simulate the carved leather insert I had made for the car at the time. The remainder of the vehicle was built box stock
