Scale Model Cars
I've been a confirmed plastic basher since the age of 8...with considerable time off until about 8 years ago when I "got the urge" again in my 40's. This seems to be a common theme among car modelers lately. I was an avid customizer in my teens, chopping, channeling and lowering to the ground any piece of plastic I could get my hands on. Always a detail fanatic, to the point of closets full of unfinished "pieces of art", I'm learning to tone down my efforts to the tune of completed models!

The epitome of my younger days was a chopped, channeled and sectioned '40 Ford Sedan completed about 1960. This Candy Green "low rider" had opening doors and trunk with latching handles, swivel bucket seats, engine wiring made from sewing thread, cloth interior consisting of individual green and white corduroy stripes and many custom body modifications. It has regretfully passed to the great plastic lump in the sky after one of my insane "clean the attic" days. All that's left are some pitiful slides of my past marvels, two of which are reproduced below.
