Tom Chapin's CD of THE TRAIN THEY CALL THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS (in the LIVE OAK edition) has been nominated for a Grammy. Tom's reading and singing of the famous song accompany Michael's illustrated book.

       

MICHAEL  COMPLETES  TALES OF TERROR

Michael's has illustrated a new collection of  six popular  stories by Edgar Allan Poe that will be published by Alfred A. Knopf in 2005. Entitled Tales of Terror from Edgar Allan Poe, the edition will also include two CDs so one can listen to as well as  read these classic tales. Included are The Cask of Amontillado, The Masque of the Red Death, The Black Cat, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Pit and the Pendulum, and The Fall of the House of Usher. Michael also contributed head notes and an introduction.

          

THE MAN WHO PLANTED TREES  

Michael McCurdy's best-selling book, Jean Giono's The Man Who Planted Trees will be appear this spring from Chelsea Green Publishing Company of White River Junction, Vermont, in a special, newly designed  20th Anniversary Edition. The reprint will be in a fulsome 7 x 10" format and will include a Foreword by  Wangari Maathai, 2004 Nobel Peace Prize winner, and an Afterword by Andy Lipkis of Tree People.
