Snoopy!!! The Musical
The St. John’s Players’ fall production of the musical Snoopy!!! is going to be a must see. I cannot believe just how fantastic our group sounds in just one short month of rehearsals. We have a few new faces with terrific voices in the group this year. Kristina Clark and Ashley Volff, two very talented voices from Adams have joined our ranks, along with Marissa Swail from Pittsfield (whom we met in Oliver this past spring) and Anthony Peterino from Williamstown. Returning talents include Dylan Waterhouse as the title role, Jonathan Rowe, Matthew Tucker, Lauren Skiffington, Susan Bloom and Mollie Simon all taking lead parts. We are still looking for young singer/dancers (ages 8-15) to join us in the choruses for the show. Chorus members will not have a rigorous rehearsal schedule to commit to, but will be able to enjoy all of the fun and excitement of being in the show.

The Players welcome volunteers to help with set, costumes, props, tech, public relations, pit orchestra, and our float for the Fall Foliage Parade. If you are interested, please call Lee Rutan at 413-664-9656, ext. 17 for more information. St. John’s Players is an ecumenical community theater group dedicated to building family and community through inspirational productions.

Snoopy!!! is based on the comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz. The book is by Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates, Warren Lockhart, Arthur Whitelaw, and Michael L. Grace. Music by Larry Grossman and lyrics by Hal Hackady. Like its predecessor You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Snoopy!!! brings the Sunday comics to life with tuneful songs and lively dances that will tickle your funny bone and warm your heart. Your whole family will enjoy the antics of your favorite characters including Linus, Lucy, Peppermint Patty, Sally, Charlie Brown, and of course the ever lovable beagle Snoopy and his sidekick Woodstock.

Snoopy!!! Show dates: November 7, 8, 9, 14, 15 and 16. Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays at 3 and 7pm Sundays at 3pm. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for children and seniors.

The gift of music
I wish to see all arts, principally music, in the service of Him who gave and created them. Music is a fair and glorious gift from God. I would not forego my humble share of music. Singers are never sorrowful, but are merry, and they smile through their troubles in song. Music makes people kinder, gentler, more staid and reasonable. I am persuaded that after theology, music is the only art capable of affording peace and joy of heart … the devil flees before the sound of music almost as much as before the Word of God. —Martin Luther
